Someday...someday

Okay so for the next little while it looks like I won't be getting many pictures up just because my computer is being silly and not wanting to work. So instead I've resorted to stealing other's computers and not having a place to put any pics up. Oh well. I guess it just means i'll have to start saving up for a new computer soon (hum a new powerbook would be nice!!). Anyways also on my wish list is an iPod but that is something that really can wait until I get into the money. But I was looking around newstoday and saw the cutest thing for your iPod. It's the iPod guy. I think he's cute and I like the fact he's multifunctional. Look you can even store your jewelry on him!

mmmm chocolate

Okay so doing a bit more searching today than usual but then things are a little slow right now so it's all good. Besides I've been a bit behind on trying to find new things for the site so it's always good to play catch up! I've been in a real furniture and home stuff kick right now (maybe because I'm planning on moving soon!) but I came across the website for Australia's Design Awards. Some of the projects there remind me so much of my INTD project for school (go Health(e)band!) but there are some really cool ideas and creations out there. I love the table they call chocolate. It looks just like white chocolate curls and everything, and it would look great in a chocolate brown shade too. Definately a thought to keep in mind when looking for furniture for my new place!

Come Fly with Me

I love to travel and I know being on a plane for what seems like forever can feel like the worse feeling in the world. I was browsing Coolhunting today and saw they had travelling bags for clothes. After checking out the site I couldn't believe all the cool things that Flight 001 carries. I would never have thought of travelling in this much style. I also love the fact that they include stuff to make your pet comfortable while travelling. If you're going on a long flight soon I highly recommend that you check their site out and really make sure you've got everything before you travel!

I Miss Milan

Yes I know it's been forever since I last put anything up but there a) hasn't been anything that really caught my eye and b) I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to search for new inspiration. My other problem is I'm getting all these great ideas if I don't put them down soon I"m going to loose them. But I was doing some snooping on random links and I remember one site I really wanted to check out called Newstoday. I'm very glad I did as they have a ton of stuff that is interesting to search through and all the hottest new designers and artifacts and site to search through. I think I've found some new places to keep me busy so stay tuned for more posting. The first is a great artist that I wish could have come up with his ideas a little sooner for Alessi because I would have loved to pick up his teaspoon while I was in Milan last summer...wonder if I can get it in North America now? Hum have to continue searching!

More and More

Was hunting around my usually spots late tonight and came across a site off of Design Sponge that sold just cute random things for around the house. It caught my eye because of the Alessi drain plug called Mr. Suicide. I love how Alessi takes everyday items and turns them into new and creative designs. There is a lot of cool new designs here to browse through to...looks like I found another site to add to the list!

From Russia With Love

I absolutely loved Tetris when I was growing up. It was one of the first games I bought when I got my original Nintendo. I would play for hours and I was pretty good. I got to level 11 on regular Nintendo and I think something like level 15 on Game Boy. I fell in love with these shelves and can't wait to find a spot for them in my home one day (saving saving saving). I love the movability of them and the simple shapes and patterns are amazing. A total must have!

What's In a Name

I loved this idea that I found while searching one of the many sites I seem to stumble across. I uses your signiture to create the shape of a box. It's a cool idea and no two would ever really be the same but some questions arose...what if you name doesn't have any holes in it to make the vase part (some people have pretty skinny signitures). Or what if you like someone else's name...can you make a vase out of their signiture? Anyways still a cool, original idea.

24/7

A friend of mine showed me the site Cool Hunting and I'm now addicted. I love the stuff that people find on there and most of the stuff you see here I've copied over. One of the best ideas I saw posted was 365 days of design. Bauer actually did a design a day for a whole year weather he actually completed it that day or not. It's interesting to see his progress over the year and how his style changed. It's an idea I've been pondering over myself and maybe I wouldn't do one a day but maybe on a week instead.

Creativity

Okay so here I am, new to the blog world. I've viewed many a blog and who knew that one day I myself would need and use one. My main thought was this is a place for me to post things that inspire me or I find cool while I'm out searching the net. Here and there might be a few of my own things thrown in but we'll see...not really one for the lime light and criticism. Not the best for someone just getting out of school and trying to find herself in the big world of design. But I'll plug away as best I can and hope that someday I might become inspiration to others. Wish me luck!
